About Andrew

I grew up on Cape Cod and joined the Marine Corps in 2006 immediately after graduating high school. In 2008 I deployed with 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion to the Al Anbar Province in Iraq, then deployed again in 2009 to the Helmand Province of Afghanistan as part of Operation Khanjar. That summer in 2009 changed my life, and I spent years interpreting what it meant, how it shaped me, and what I learned.

SERVICE & LEADERSHIP

After leaving the Marines, I continued a life of service and became a police officer for the Yarmouth Police Department, eventually serving as a sergeant.
My career has centered on leadership, community work, mentorship, and supporting both officers and veterans through transition and adversity.

WRITING & PODCASTING

Writing became a way to understand my experiences, and eventually, a way to help others understand theirs.
My book Summer 2009 and my podcast Lessons Learned explore the universal themes behind service, loss, identity, and personal growth.
